MEETINGS

The Club currently has about 300 members of whom approximately 160 members meet every Wednesday for nine categories of group rides.

2014 RIDE GROUPINGS

Ride groupings are based on average speed and distance. Within any one grouping there may be several ride groups on any particular day (or even none), depending on numbers of riders and available leaders. It is aimed to limit the group size to 10.

There are 5 speed groupings in each of two start times for Wednesday rides, with the earlier groups generally travelling further.

Important note:

The speed shown is the AVERAGE speed overall. To achieve this average speed requires the majority of the ride to be ridden at much higher speeds. Much of the ride will be at speeds 25-30% or more above the average speed. Note that the ride leader has the discretion to alter the route, and distances will also vary. If on any day you do not feel you are capable of maintaining this higher speed or distance you should ride with a slower group, both for the sake of your health, and to not spoil the ride for others who have to wait for you.

Ride groups on a Monday and Saturday will be arranged according to numbers and leaders present. Riders can anticipate leaders will ride at similar speeds to Wednesdays.

NOTICE BOARD

Change of Start Venue for 26th of November 2014

The Start Venue for Wednesday the 26th of November has been changed from Lake Monger to Raphael Park. This change is to better accommodate the 30th Anniversary celebrations for the first ride of the Over 55 Cycling Club.
October Ride Statistics

October Ride Statistics
October has produced a large jump in figures for the year and we are approaching our goal for 2014.
933 riders rode 54 133 km in October to stretch the number of kilometres travelled to 450 661 for the year.
The goal for this year is 500 000 km, so with two months to go we need about another 50 000 km. This can be achieved by you turning out on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Mondays and enjoying the good weather and the company of your cycling friends.

Busselton Camp 7th to 21st of February 2015
Details of the 2015 Busselton Camp can now be viewed in the Camps, Tours and Trips section of the website. You can indicate your intention to attend the Camp by placing your name on the list on the Club Notice Board which is present every Wednesday.
If you intend to go to Busselton for only one week, try to be there on the middle Saturday (14th of February) for the Old Time Dance at the Vasse Hall.
